Your Choices of Dog Training Collars

Sometimes your dog needs to be reminded who’s the boss between you two and often times the best way is to get him some training. Apart from looking for a professional trainer for your dog (if you do not have the patience or time to attend to him), among the very first things that you should do is to look for a decent dog training collar.

The classifications of training collars depend largely on the types of uses a collar has.

There are a number of choices when it comes to training callers. There are the fancy collars which are specifically for decoration and style, there are a lot more that have specific uses. They are the following:

Choke Training Collars

Choke collars or slip collars are formed into loops that can be attached to the neck of the dog. The name of the collar is quite deceiving as it cannot cause choking unless the leash is pulled too hard. However, since the collar has no limit as to adjustment, it also has no limit as to how far it could tighten around the dog’s neck.

This should be worn high above the neck, behind the ears. Choke collars, while still popular, are now rarely used for dog training due to the lack of mechanism that stops the collar from constricting. This type is quite controversial as it is unsafe to leave the collar on if the dog is not supervised.

Prong Training Collar

Also popular for its name pinch collar, is characterized by chains with open ends that are turned towards the dog’s neck. Thus, when the collar is tightened the dog feels the spikes on the loose skin of his neck. Unlike choke training collars, prong collars have limited adjustment which also limits the amount of pinching the spikes could give the dog. Because of the spreading effect of the blunted spikes it is difficult to puncture the skin of the dog.

However, many owners still prefer to cover the tips of the spikes with rubber. This should be worn in the same way the choke collar is worn. There are cases when the dogs could slip out of the prong. This is why many owners use a second collar, usually a flat buckle collar.

Martingale Training Collars

Normally used for Sighthounds which have relatively smaller heads than necks, martingale collars are special types of dog collars that ensure security and comfort at the same time. This collar makes use of two loops- the large loop which is attached around the dog’s neck and the smaller loop on which the D ring is attached to. If tension is applied on the leash, the loops would naturally constrict to prevent the dog from getting off the collar.

Electronic Training Collars

Popular with its names shock collars and remote collars, this kind delivers electrical impulses or a spray of citrus smell whenever the dog misbehaves. For proponents this collar helps break unwanted behaviors easily especially if the owner does not have sufficient time for training. Also it makes handling the dog a lot easier.

Dog training collars are undeniable among the most effective tools in shaping the behavior of the dogs to ones that are desired by the owner.

These could limit their natural inclinations to run (and not really escape), to wander, to bark at strangers and to attack people or dogs in protection of themselves or their masters.

Why Your Content is the Most Important Part of Your Website

When you own a website the content you place on your website is what’s going to determine how well you’ll end up doing. Link building is another huge factor, but without content that is useful to readers and unique to the search engines then you could be in trouble. You need to make two things happy with your content and that’s your readers and the search engines. In order to do this you’ll need to spend a considerable amount of time researching keywords an information that people want to read about.

Throwing content onto your website for the sake of adding more words is just plain wrong and it will only hurt your website if anything. When you add content onto your website the first thing you should always make sure is that the content is completely unique. If you write your own content then you’ll obviously know it’s unique, but if you outsource your content then the best way to make sure it’s unique is to run it through copyscape premium.

Once you know your content is unique then you can start thinking about what keywords to target. Each article you add to your website should target it’s own set of keywords and typically they should be long-tail keywords so you can get SERP rankings easier. Choosing keywords is one of the most difficult parts of setting up your content on your website, but without the right keywords then you‘ll never get search engine traffic so it’s important to spend some time on it.

As you write your content or have it written you should also make sure there is a proper amount of keywords optimized in the actual article. This means you’ll need too choose your keywords before you begin even writing the article, which by the way is the correct way to do things. You don’t want to stuff your articles with too many keywords though as then it becomes a lot less enjoyable for the readers. You still need to keep the readers in mind because they are the ones who will make you’re the money. If you don’t have content that keeps them on your website then you won’t be able to make any money off of them.

Content is the most vital part of any website whether it’s a small website or a large one. If you can’t write content then you should outsource it too someone who can do justice on your topic. Never pay a writer because they have the lowest rates either, pay for the quality and make sure it’s done right. I find way too many issues arise when you use the cheapest rates rather then the average rate. There are plenty of writers online and I would suggest paying anywhere from $.015-$.02 per word for good content. The investment will be worth it because once you start making money it will quickly pay off for the content you needed to buy to get the site started.

Sweet First Anniversary Wedding Ideas

Celebrating the first year anniversary is one of the most special occasions in a couples’ life. This is the reason why most think of a really special celebration as this marks a special period and a milestone in their relationship.

Giving a first anniversary gift is also very crucial as the gift will probably be remembered for all the time that you will spend together. So what do you give?
Unless you have a million dollar stashed away in the bank and you can afford to give a diamond ring, the only alternatives are gifts that may be cheap but very sweet. Here are some ideas that we hope will make your anniversary memorable.

Look to the memories

Nothing can be sweeter than going back to the times that you were together and reminiscing on the good times. You can actually capture the moment and putting it in a gift that both of you will appreciate. If you have for instance a photo that you have kept that reminds you of a special time together, why not frame it or put it in a nice picture frame. You can make a caption that explains how you felt at that moment in the photograph. Your partner will find this really sweet. Besides, it will strengthen your bond more than any gift would as you will both be transported by the happy memory.

Other ideas for a gift is to keep tickets of a movie that you have seen together or receipt from a restaurant where you first had your date. Frame them or put them in a photo album. You can reminisce together while you eat your dinner and celebrate your first year anniversary.

Look to the wants

Your partner is sure to want something. Think of your partner’s wish list and try to give at last three of the items in the list. The gifts need not be material. For instance, he or she may wish for you to be more understanding and more thoughtful. Promise to be that way through a card or a letter. You can even be funny by making a mock certificate where you promise to be that way.

Fulfilling their wishes is one way of making him or her feel that you are willing to sacrifice something for them. This is perhaps one of the sweetest thing that you can do for your partner especially during your first year celebration.

Dog Food: Chicken in Dog Food

When you select the best dry food for your dog, is it better to go with
the chicken meal than the pure chicken?

Chicken meal is better because it is simply chicken that has been baked
to remove bacteria and other toxins. Chicken is simply pure chicken.
What you might not know about chicken, is that it is made mostly of
water. If a label on a bag of dog food says 60% whole chicken that is
quite misleading as that does not take into account how much of that 60%
of chicken is left after baking it to remove unwanted substances!

When you read the label on the bag of dog food and it says 60% of chicken
meal, your getting more of the chicken because the product has already
been baked to remove unwanted affects such as bacteria.

Converting to Dry Matter
If you really want to know what you are doing you need to understand that
all pet foods have different levels of moisture. Canned foods can have up
to 80% moisture whereas, some dry foods can have as little as 6%. This is
important for 2 reasons. The first is that the food is priced by the
pound, and when you buy dog food that is 80% water you get 20% food and
the rest is water. So this means that the amount of food your pet
consumes is small and expensive. The other reason for understanding
percent moisture is to help you compare crude protein and fat between
brands and between canned and dry. The listings on the label are for the
food as it is, not as it would be on a dry matter basis. So without
converting both brands of food to a dry matter basis you will not be able
to compare them accurately.

Fortunately, the conversion is not that complicated.

If a dry dog food has 10% moisture we know that it has 90% dry matter. So
we look at the label and check the protein level that reads 20%. Next, we
divide the 20 percent protein by the 90% dry matter and we get 22%, which
is the amount of protein on a dry matter basis. Does this make sense so
far? Good. Now let us compare this to canned food that has 80% moisture.

We know that with 80% moisture we have 20% dry matter. The label shows 5%
protein. So we take the 5% and divide it by 20% and we get 25% protein on
a dry matter basis. So the canned food has more protein per pound on a
dry matter basis after all the water is taken out. We can do the same for
fat, fiber and more.

If you can do the calculations, you can then understand the whole
nutrition of the dog food.

Iceberg Lettuce isn’t Your Only Choice

What goes in a salad? A little of this and a little of that, but 90 percent of the time it starts with crisp, green lettuce. The question is what type of greens do you like on your salad? Let’s look at some of the different types of lettuce one can use to make the perfect salad.

Building the perfect salad takes time. You work from the bottom up and all the fixings need to be just right. Lettuce is not only the building block of your salad but it makes up about 50 to 60 percent of your dish. Therefore finding the right type of lettuce to satisfy your taste buds is very important.

Iceberg lettuce usually tops the list because it is the most common and the easiest to find. Most restaurant salads begin with iceberg lettuce. Although this type of lettuce has very little taste it is still considered one of the favorite picks. With all the other ingredients you add you won’t even notice there’s not much taste.

Next in line is Bibb lettuce. This type of lettuce has a slightly sweet taste. It also has a rich green color. This type of lettuce works great as bedding for chicken or tuna salad as well as fruit salads.

Romaine lettuce is used most often in Cesar salads. It is a little more expensive than iceberg lettuce. Its mild taste makes it a great lettuce for salads. Romaine lettuce is a little darker in color than iceberg lettuce. The leaves are long and they have a fibrous spine that runs the entire length of each leaf.

A bitter tasting lettuce such as Frisee is most often found in mixed greens. This lettuce is often mixed with Mesclun which also has a bitter taste. These lettuce leaves look like they have been chewed by a rabbit before being packaged. They are a medium green in color and the leaves are long and ragged looking.

Other types of greens include spinach and radicchio. Spinach has a wonderful flavor and a brilliant dark green color. One of the benefits of spinach is that color. Antioxidants are found in these darker colored leaves. Beta carotene is in abundance and can help in warding off free radicals in the body as well.

Radicchio is a lettuce that looks more like a cabbage. Although the leaves are long like lettuce the color and texture are more like that of a cabbage. The red to purple color and the white spine that runs through leaves give this type of lettuce the appearance of a cabbage. Radicchio is rather bitter and works better when mixed with other types of lettuce than alone.

Last but not least is endive. Endive is a Belgian variety of lettuce. Dark green in color the leaves are short and have a tendency to curl. Due to its mild taste, endive is chosen often for salads.

What type of greens do you prefer? These are just a few that you can mix and match to create the perfect salad base. Try something different the next time you prepare a salad, you might just find one you love.

The first step in the process is to determine what your bad habits are. Look at the times when you tend to overeat and see if you can understand what triggers these reactions.

If you can eliminate those triggers and you can only do that by determining what they are in the first place then you will find it a lot easier to sort out your eating problems.

You should also look at the types of food that you go for during these times as often they will be comfort foods and more often than not these comfort foods are of very low nutritional value and due to that fact they will stimulate overeating.

By simply changing your comfort foods, with those that are of a higher nutritional value you will still be satisfying your needs by eliminating the negative side effects that are associated with poor food.

As most things that we do in life are habitual we rarely think about the actions we take as we go about our daily routines on autopilot. Unfortunately everything we do throughout the day includes both good and bad habits and it is those bad habits that are causing the damage.

As we age, more and more aspects of our life become habitual and it becomes more difficult to realize we have these habits and even more so to get rid of them particularly if we have had them for a long time.

With a bit of personal analysis you will quickly become to notice the various different things that are leading up to your eating and weight problems.

If you only target one of these habits at a time it becomes a lot easier to make the changes and often changing one habit can have a positive affect on many other habits. The process certainly becomes easier the more you do it in and by concentrating more on that area rather than the food itself you will find that weight loss is not such an overwhelming part of your life.

Something Special to Give for the 25th Wedding Anniversary

Jack and Mary have been married for 25 years. Time had flown so fast that both these individuals were able to raise 3 children with the eldest who just finished college.

Jack told Mary that this moment would be celebrated with dinner for two at the couple’s favorite Italian restaurant along Ocean Boulevard.

Little did Mary know what was planned since this was going to be more than one evening for dinner that the two will enjoy.

The real plan was for the couple to spend the weekend in the Bahamas. This was arranged more than 3 months in advance and the only thing to iron out were the other small details to make this as memorable as possible.

The plan started at 6 am of that day. There was going to be breakfast in bed with Mary’s favorite rose on a vase with the favorite dish of sausage and eggs.

Noticing there was an envelope under the plate, Mary opened it and discovered there were plane tickets inside. The couple always talked flying down to Florida but was shocked to see two first class tickets to the Bahamas.

Mary got out of bed and started to pack but Jack had already done that. There were two bags in the closet, which were ready so there was already nothing to worry about.

Two hours after freshening up, there was a knock on the door. Mary was surprised to see a limousine outside which was arranged by Jack to take the couple to the airport.

The couple got to the airport and boarded the plane. There was a bottle of chilled Don Perignon and a box of chocolates which both enjoyed throughout the flight.

The resort was great. The couple was serenaded during each meal, there was enough time to go snorkeling and watch the sunset.

The entire gift ended with a card that told Jack wrote to Mary saying “thank you” for the many happy years together and how much the man loved the wife.

The 25th anniversary present was like a renewal of how much Jack cherished Mary. The amount of planning and preparation was so secret that the wife was felt so special when everything came out.

There are not that many people who are able to stay so long in a marriage. Should someone be as lucky as the couple, the people in the relationship should make this something to be joyful about.

Entrepreneur and Finances

Starting from scratch as an entrepreneur can be a difficult feat, especially if you lack a business plan and a clear direction right off the bat. The first thing you need to consider as an entrepreneur is the major outline of the business and where you see the growth of your business several years down the line. Amidst all of your immediate concerns, there are a few topics that you need to start thinking about as it relates to your finances as an entrepreneur.

Financial Blueprint for Entrepreneurs

The first thing relating to your finances that you should start thinking about as soon as your business is formed is the financial blueprint of the company and your business. Having a clear business plans means that you will lay out how your company will start, the costs associated with your business, and any outlines or goals for success. All of these things are incredibly important as they give you a direction for your business as an entrepreneur.

Consider where your startup capital will come from as an entrepreneur who may have very little financial assets already in play. You’ll need funding to start your business from scratch; funding is required to gather business supplies, any and all equipment, and for advertising. Many people turn to large banks or credit unions to obtain startup loans and these are certainly options. Private funding for your business is also possible, but you need to know a successful business owner-friend or another wealthy individual or organization that is willing to take a risk and help.

Income Tracking and Planning

Keeping track of your income is especially important as an entrepreneur just starting out with a business. Some businesses use specialty financial software such as Oracle to keep track of financial habits, but just a simple spreadsheet with places to track expenses and expenditures as well as sales and revenue will help.

Knowing how much money is coming in and going out is very important to securing the success of your business over the long haul as your whole goal with income tracking and planning should be to turn a profit as quickly as possible. As an entrepreneur who is planning for financial and business success, you need to create a plan for the times that sales are down or the financial rough spots that you may not have foreseen.

Outsourcing

When it comes to achieving success, many people choose to outsource tasks of their business. Depending on the business model you have and the industry that you’re in, consider outsourcing tasks like the shipment of goods and products to customers. If you’re creating products, consider having other people develop the product you want while you focus on selling it. Outsourcing may in fact become critical to success if you’re planning on exponentially growing your business and achieving more from the effort you put into maintaining it.

Goal Planning and Success

Part of creating a business plan and thinking about the future as an entrepreneur involves goal planning for long term success. Part of this involves deciding how you’re going to cease your own activities with your business. Will you leave it to your heirs or pass it along to a close family member? One possible option you have is to sell the company for a large profit after you’ve built a successful and stable business. All of these end results are definitely worthwhile to achieve, but a critical component of this is deciding how much money you want the business to be worth; figuring this out should ultimately help steer you in the right path to achieve success.

The financial aspect of a business, especially one that’s started by an entrepreneur, is always important if you want to define your success by the empire you’ve built. Simply having the desire to succeed is not enough; you’ll have to create and refine your business plans, track your financial income and expenditures, and maintain the path to financial success.
