By no means will I recommend specific products simply because I feel that each and every house is different with what should be used. You will need to decide which will look best in your home, and noone can do this for you without looking at your home so you either need to do it or hire someone who will do it for you. Sometimes hiring a professional designer to do your decorations throughout your home is a great way to make sure that it’s done right. I use to not have any sense of style and would have been best off using a designer, but I never did. They are trained to make your home look great though, and most of them know what their doing so it’s a pretty safe bet when using a professional designer to decorate your home.

1. Paint is one of the fastest methods for you too change the look of your house, and during the summer you should try painting some walls light fresh colors. You will be surprised at the difference it can make in your home, and you don’t even need to paint all the walls. If you wanted too you could simply paint one wall which would make a very nice vocal point on your wall. When choosing a color that is pretty far out there then you might want to consider just painting the one wall.

2. Remove some of the small table decorations from around the house so that you can get a less clustered feeling in your home. You will also save time when cleaning which is something that noone will complain about I’m sure. During the hot summer months it’s a monster chore to clean around the house instead of being out in the sun, so cut your workload in half by removing some of the knick-knacks in your home.

3. Fresh flowers can not only be used in the garden outside, but they can also add color and a very fresh smell in your home. Flowers aren’t very expensive and they come in basically any color you could imagine so you will be able to mix and match them to create a wonderful decoration inside of your home during the summer.

4. Window treatments aren’t too important when it’s the summer so remove any extra window treatments that are blocking out the sunlight. Of course you will want to make sure that you still have one thin set of blinds or drapes on your windows so that when you don’t want the sunlight you can block it out, but you don’t need thick heavy window treatments up in the summer. You’d be surprised how bright your home will become in the summer when you leave the windows free from any window treatments.

5. The last thing you can do is simply move some furniture around the house, although you’re not adding anything new to the mix you’re stilling creating a different appearance. I often move chairs from room to room throughout the year and in the summer I find that I like having more chairs in my living room then in the winter because I have a lot more guests over during the summer months then any other time of the year.

The summer season is about sunlight and fresh clean air and you should do your best to bring this into your home décor as much as possible. There are tons of things you can do too make your home more appropriate for the summer, and many of them are very low costing techniques. Adding color to the décor is the number one thing in the summer, and you should make sure that those windows are clear to allow the sunlight to shine into your home. The summer is always less hectic and more relaxing then any other season, so enjoy it to the fullest because before you know it you’ll be in winter again.
